Authenticating currency through genetic fingerprints
According to the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing, US currency is made up of 75% cotton and 25% linen. Similarly, many foreign currencies – including the Euro, Mexican Peso, Brazilian Cruzeiro, Argentine Peso, Indian Rupee, British Pound, Russian Ruble, Japanese Yen and others – are also printed on natural fiber-based paper.
