Apple was granted
patents for a fingerprint scan identification solution likely to be
used in the iphone and ipod touch devices. Also, Apple filed another
patent that describes how an RFID reader might be used in handheld

Talkitec Installs Voice Recognition
Voice Recognition is a form of authentication that uses the
tones in a voice to identify the speaker. It is an application of the
biometrics technology to prevent identity theft. This, along with
other forms of biometrics, will replace passwords and PINS which can be
easily forgotten and stolen. Talkitec, a leading provider of next
generation call center systems, has recently installed such a system.
