Are Copyrights Impeding Literature?
The argument for Intellectual Property protection is highly debated, even controversial. Many proponents say it hinders distribution of works of literature. That is, certain works figuratively die due to the demands of Intellectual Property and Copyright Law, which could deprive the public of some great literary works. UK ISPs Refuse to Uphold New Three Strikes Law
The UK has successfully voted in the Three Strikes Law giving the ISPs permission to deny access to those accused of pirating. There's only one problem: the ISPs have all said they'll refuse to follow through with this policy. Instead, they want stricter guidelines as to what is legal. See more here.
Fight against DVD Ripping Affecting Education
If a teacher wants to use a certain video clip for educational purposes, the MPAA says they are not allowed to if they rip the clip to a DVD. The teachers can, however, record it on a video camera to then show in class. Advocates are asking: Should education go by the wayside to appease the MPAA? Was There Conflict of Interest in Pirate Founders' Conviction?
