Consumers with mobile phones or personal digital assistants (PDAs) could gain the ability to interact directly with their bank's automated teller machines (ATMs) in ways that could change where, when and how often they bank. New, recently patented technology developed by Diebold, Incorporated, a global leader in providing integrated automated teller machines (ATMs) and security systems and services, will allow it to happen.

Astro-Med Inc. was granted a US patent relating to electrophotographic color label printing. US Patent 7,249,903 covers the continuous feeding and printing of rollstock adhesive labels in an electrophotographic (laser or LED) printer. This is the electro-mechanical system that underlies Astro-Med's invention of the QuickLabel Systems brand Vivo! digital color label printing system.

Idera Pharmaceuticals Inc. was issued a US patent for novel immunostimulatory oligonucleotide compositions. The claims of this patent, entitled “Modulation of Immunostimulatory Activity of Immunostimulatory Oligonucleotide Analogs by Positional Chemical Changes” cover oligonucleotide compounds comprising a synthetic immunostimulatory dinucleotide motif.
US patent 7,262,286 (the ‘286 patent).

India's new e-filing system for trademark and patent applications was officialy launched. The Indian Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks met with leading IP agents and lawyers to familiarize them with new system which will make the filing of patent and trademark applications smoother and more user-friendly.
