CANBERRA - IP Australia announced in a Monday press release that it is seeking comment from trademark owners and their representatives on issues relating to the current and future operation of the Madrid Protocol in the context of ongoing international consideration of the future development of the Madrid system.
"It would be helpful if comments could reach IP Australia by November 9, 2007 in order for them to be considered when we contributes to a World Intellectual Property Organization Secretariat paper at the end of 2007," according to IP Australia.
Australia's economic well-being depends on capturing the benefits of increased innovation and creativity. IP Australia's role is to provide a strong intellectual property system which promotes innovation, investment and trade.
