Home > UK-IPO Corporate Plan: Helping Support Businesses Compete in a Global Economy
30.06.2008

LONDON - An ambitious and demanding program of work for the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK-IPO) and its delivery partners is detailed in the Corporate Plan published on June 26, 2008, a press release by the Office stated.

This year’s Plan focuses on the major strategic challenges, and on the steps the UK-IPO will take to ensure it is properly equipped to meet those challenges.

"As set out in the 'Innovation Nation' White Paper earlier this year, the Government's goal is to make the UK the best place in the world to run a creative, innovative business,” Minister for Intellectual Property, Baroness Delyth Morgan said.

“Exploiting new knowledge and ideas to develop more effective products, services, processes and organizations is a vital step in achieving this goal. This plan sets a very clear and dynamic program of activity for the next three years," Morgan added.

"We are an information business, and information technology presents us with a great opportunity to improve the way we work and provide services in the years ahead. This Corporate plan gives us the direction necessary to achieve this," Chief Executive of the UK-IPO Ian Fletcher stated.

The plan is in a different form to previous years, reflecting the development of the Government’s thinking on Intellectual Property over the past two years as well as a different approach to planning the Office's activities.
