Founded in 1995, Raytec is dedicated to providing expert services across the full range of intellectual property businesses in Japan – tailoring its expertise to the specific needs of clients.

Raytec China was established to construct a framework for a system that, via data purchase, is able to translate patent information into English. (Other business activities, such as helpdesk, are continue to be conducted from the main office in Tokyo.)

In 2004, as part of its PAT-LIST series (a patent browsing and searching system), Raytec Co., Ltd. developed a patent information retrieval system specializing in patent searches in China.  The function of the system has been enhanced and revised as a new system called CN/Web.Under the contract with the State Intellectual Property Office of China, Raytec has a database of about 2.5 million items of patent information – including published applications, issued patent, utilities and designs – which can be searched for and displayed in English.
