Dee Ann Weldon-Wilson


 

 

On January 1, 2007, Dee Ann Weldon-Wilson began serving her one-year term as the president of the International Trademark Association (INTA). Weldon-Wilson is committed to emphasizing trademark protection issues in Brazil, Russia, India and China and fighting counterfeit in general during her tenure. Since 1990 she has also served as trademark counsel for Exxon Mobile Corporation in Texas

Weldon-Wilson has established the Long Range Planning Task Force that will study how INTA stays applicable and vital to its members as the practice of trademark law continues to grow 15 to 20 years from now.

She has been outspoken in establishing an effective worldwide legal structure for criminal sanctions against IP crimes. As INTA president, Weldon-Wilson has strongly urged all governments to enforce laws to prohibit the trade of counterfeit goods through free trade zones and to enact tougher laws.

She has previously served INTA as an officer and member of the Board of Directors. Weldon-Wilson received her B.A. degree from the University of Alabama in and her J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law.
