Afraid to Lose Your Identity? Get Smart!

Payne Security's Smart Card Solutions combines the benefits of its personalized ID cards with smart card technology is the perfect marriage of convenience and security.

What do the UK's Eton College, St. Elizabeth Hospice and the Transport Concessionary Authorities (TCAs) have in common? They got smart! That is…

World-famous Eton College now protects users of its outdoor swimming pool with Payne Security's personal ID cards. St. Elizabeth Hospice now produces its own sophisticated durable ID cards much more economically with a donated ID card printer from Payne Security. And TCAs can now roll out personalized and encoded ITSO-compliant contact-less smart cards for the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS), thanks to Payne Security in partnership with Burall InfoSmart.

Payne Security has been at the forefront of the ID cards industry for over 30 years, developing a comprehensive array of card solutions and ID card systems. With cases of identity fraud spreading like plague worldwide, the addition of smart card technology to Payne Security's built-in security, durability, high definition print quality and corporate image enhancement – with smart card technology enables companies to add value to the cards currently provided within their systems. They can use the secure smart card for a variety of applications, including access control, cashless vending, and auditing of time and attendance data.  Payne's personalization service provides secure cards with all the print features 'locked' into the core of the card, ensuring durability and security.

How does it work? High definition print and digital personalization are locked into the core of the card together with either the contact or contact-less chip technology. Payne Security offers a range of contact card chips and high-quality inlays for contact-less cards, to ensure the highest level of security for the overall card.  High speed encoding production lines are able to identify cards and encode the unique data according to the structure and requirements of each card application.

Enhancements. For customers who wish to personalize their cards on site, Payne Security can specify a secure smart card base stock print option, whose high definition security print is locked into the card for overprinting using a desktop printer.

Security on cards can be further enhanced with the addition of highly visual hologram features for instant visual impact. From transparent embossed holographic stamps for added protection of photos and personalized data, through to unique holographic designs with integrated security features, the addition of holograms to cards presents an additional layer of security and enhancement of corporate image.

According to Simon Wildash of Payne Security, “The combination of ‘smart’ technology with the proven benefits of our high definition, secure printed personal ID card solutions is the perfect marriage of convenience and security…Employees can benefit from a range of useful features without the fear of fraudulent usage.”

Fulfillment service. Further assistance to customers is also provided by Payne Security’s complete fulfillment service, providing a one-stop shop for managed card services.  The fulfillment system is able to generate a printed carrier document and securely match it to up to six cards, folding and inserting them into an envelope, together with up to two other documents or leaflets.

“By delivering cards right into the hands of the end user, Payne Security enables businesses to reach their customers quickly and efficiently,” adds Simon Wildash.

For those TCAs which may have difficulty in meeting the approaching April deadline for issuing ENCTS cards, Payne Security's high-volume, sheet form, digital personalization, which prints thousands of ITSO compliant contact-less smart cards an hour (as opposed to the hundreds achieved by traditional desk-top technology) came at just the right time. For St. Elizabeth Hospice, smart cards are the answer for an environment where security measures are paramount and every staff member and over 400 volunteers are required to wear an ID card.  For Eton College, whose high-profile reputation naturally raises security concerns everyday, smart cards were deemed an important way of ensuring that only genuine students and other authorized personnel can use the pool.

Payne Security's SmartCard works and the proof, as they say, is in the pudding.
