Rob Holmes

Rob Holmes is Founder & CEO of IPCybercrime.com. Raised in New Jersey in a family of private investigators, Rob worked his first trademark infringement case at the age of twelve. In the early nineties, after college, Rob left home to forge a life for himself in Los Angeles. While aspiring as a stand-up comedian, he found employment at a premiere intellectual property investigative firm. In 1995, Rob found himself assigned to investigate a new breed of faceless perpetrators: Cybercriminals.

Here, he conducted some of the world's first IP-related Internet investigations, and played an integral part in many cases that led to the inception of Ebay's VeRO program, the passing of the DMCA and the Anti-Cybersquatting Act.

Rob Holmes pioneered the study of the "virtual crime scene", comprised of three primary types of evidence: physical, digital, and psychological. While most investigators were busy "thinking outside-the-box", Rob knew all along that there is no box.

For over a decade, Rob Holmes has been operating the world's first and leading Internet IP enforcement program, which he founded. His clients are a Who's Who list of Fortune 500 companies; many of which have been with him since the beginning.

Throughout his career, Rob has been sought as an advisor to a wide range of officials and businesspeople. Rob has been featured on television, books, and newspapers; and has been well-received as a speaker on the topic of IP Cybercrime.

Alan Mendelson of CBS News referred to Rob Holmes as "the Sherlock Holmes of the Internet".

Tim Phillips in his book Knockoff: The Deadly Trade in Counterfeit Goods wrote "Holmes is tracking a new type of criminal engaged in a new type of internet crime."
